COMMANDER PARTY AT FORCORNERS COMICS & GAMES

$12 entry

$10 per player will be paid into prize support

PODS OF FOUR when possible

Three 80 MINUTE ROUNDS and a 1st 2nd  3rd and 4th place

-This is a timed event, turns should last no longer then 4 min as a courtesy the rest of the players.. if it becomes an issue, turns will be timed and a penalty of -1point will be applied.

At time AND AFTER ONE ROTATION OF TURNS

players life totals will reduce by half rounded UP on EACH UPKEEP

At time no one may take extra turns

The goal is to end or win the game BEFORE time runs out.

Gaining life after the time runs out just prolongs the wait time for all other players.

You may change decks between rounds

Commanders are revealed at the beginning of the 1st draw step.

Any player who leaves the table during a game for more then a turn rotation will forfeit that round and no points will be issued to that player or any other player for the forfeit.

If a player enters an infinite/game ending combo and ends the game while multiple opponents are still active then they will win the game and only earn point based on their placing.   The rest of the pod will continue to play.

Ex. If a player A wins by game ending combo, they get the 1st place 4 points and no other points

      If another player wins in the same pod after player A has left the game, that player will get 3 point for second and no other points (unless earned separately)

It is possible to earn point before the game ending combo which would allow a player to earn more then just the 1st 2nd 3rd place points.

Ex. A player eliminates another player and then wins the rest of the pod with a game ending combo.  This would earn that player a total of 5 points (1 point for eliminated player + 4 points for the win)

*GAME ENDING COMBO AND PLAYER ELIMINATION DO NOT STACK (this means if you win by game ending combo you only get the win points, not player elimination. However, you may remove players, or earn other points before the game ending event)

If two (or more) players are eliminated at the same time then the order of removal will be the order of priority

For the sake of clarity, when I refer to infinite combos, I’m referencing game-ending combinations of cards that literally end/win the game.

COMBAT IS NOT A GAME ENDING COMBO

POINTS

1st = 4 points

2nd = 3 points

3rd = 2 points

4th = 1 point

One point for each player eliminated (MAX 3 POINTS)

Possible other rewards

-Have your commander deal first blood +1

-Save an opponent from elimination +1

-Tap the same permanent 3+ times during one turn -1

-Take more then one consecutive turns -2

-Interfere in a game when you are not a part of the pod or not explicitly asked to assist by event coordinator -10

NEW removing a player by either by game ending combo or damage by turn five will result in negative points.

Remove player turn one     -4points

Remove player turn two     -3points

Remove player turn three -2points

Remove player turn four    -1point

These negative points will stack for any game ending combo  that occurs before turn five

As a reminder one voice is best when answering a question about interaction if assistance is needed outside your pod.

Unless you are involved in the game or a play directly affects your game or pod where a question about an interaction is involved, do not add to or try to answer any questions (if its not your pod do not interfere).  The issue will be resolved by event coordinator and it is only the event coordinator who can ask other players about a rules question.

At no time should any player interfere with the outcome of games they are not directly a part of by verbally commenting on interactions miss plays or any part of the game .  Players may SPECTATE and communicate amongst peers not in the game quietly and must do so in a manner that DOES NOT interfere.  This is a paid tournament and by interjection opinions or making corrective comments thus potentially changing the outcomes is absolutely forbidden.

THE TAKE BACK RULE

A player looses 1 point (up to 2) if he or she takes back a decision after that player passed priority, turn or phase.

THE SCOOP RULE

Scoop of forfeit of game May only be at sorcery speed.  If a player scoops as a result of an inevitable elimination from a player, the player eliminating will get the +1 regardless of the scoop

Q: does playing a card that makes creatures bigger and then swinging out and eliminating players with combat damage considered a game ending combo?

A: No. Winning the game through combat is not considered a game ending combo.
